Valentine's Day 2010

We had such a great Valentine's Day. On the 13th, we exchanged our Valentines to each other... I think it was midnight, so technically it was Valentine's Day! Anyways, Alan got chocolates and a heart pillow. He has slept with it every night since. It's really soft. I've tried to steal it a few times, but he snatches it back, haha. I got a beautiful white and pink orchid, that I am so excited about! I've never had a live flower like that. I love the fact that it's not wilting away before our eyes.

Then, on the 14th we made dinner together that night. I made bourbon chicken over asian noodles, biscuits, and steamed veggies. Alan made a wonderful chocolate cake that he decorated very well! He now thinks that he is "Buddy" from Cake Boss... you should have heard his attempt at a New York accent... it was cute. His cake was delicious! As good as it looked even! The bourbon chicken was great. It was a little spicy (not too spicy, just spicy) I added a bit more red pepper than it called for, and it went a long way! We loved it. I will list the recipe at the bottom of this post.

We went to the movies together on the 15th. We saw "Dear John" at Opry Mills. It was a pretty good movie, and we had a great time. We've been so busy lately that we haven't taken enough time to go out often. So, it was very enjoyable! We avoided the Valentine crowd too, so that was nice. We also went to the Bass Pro Shop store there at Opry Mills and picked out the speed boat we want someday. Hey, can't hurt to dream!

So, that's how we celebrated this year! Can't believe 4 years ago was our first date. In a way, time is flying...but at the same time 4 years doesn't seem that long. We feel like we've been together forever, so just 4 years is hard to believe!
